APHORISMS - 2

He is so superstitious he actually seeks out ladders to walk under.  [Think about it!]

Whenever I find myself frustrated by the stupidity of others, I comfort myself with the thought that if there were no fools I would have no yardstick by which to measure my own intelligence.

The only true freedom lies in facing up to the unpredictability of experience.  The only servitude comes from the shackles of expectation.  Therefore eschew all expectations and embrace all experiences.

I never listen to what others say about me.  If they disparage me I might doubt them, and if they flatter me I might believe them.

Must I inevitably fall into the pit of patterned failure?

                        PUNK VERSES

Oh what a tangled web we weave

When first we practise to deceive

But given just a bit more time

Deceit could really be sublime.

Love not thy neighbour as thyself

E’en though be your peer;

Lest accusation’s finger points

To judge thee naught but queer.

 

              ooo   OOO   ooo

 

Know yourself, the wise men said,

But danger here does dwell;

For peace of mind may suffer

Should you know thyself too well.

 

Mock turtle soup: a consommé devoutly to be dished.

By all means lance the boil; but don't forget the blood test.
