AFTERWORD
Well, like Topsy in Uncle Tom's Cabin, it just growed and growed.
What was to be a collection of verse, then a combination of verse and aphorisms, and ultimately an addition of some "digressions", got taken over by the digressions, links, asides, illustrations and I know not what else!
And has ended up as . . . what?
Certainly not a book in the recognised sense of the word. But I hope it is still a "good read". And - who knows? - perhaps one day it may be turned into a "normal book" - whatever that may be. In the meantime, dear reader, count your blessings. You don't have to pay for this. It is free, gratis, and without cost. And you may be assured there will be no subsequent invoice.
So . . . just . . . enjoy!
